The Lady of the Lake is something on the level of demigod or an avatar, possible of one of the Elven gods actually hurt in the War of the Heavens, consumed or captured (like Isha). She was encountered by the Wood Elves only in the times of Gilles le Breton.

Ariel's thoughts about her are that she is has "more kinship to her than to humans who worship her", but that's about it.

She resides in a place known as Silverspear (or sth like that), supposedly a mountain or a hill; her elven name (which I don't remember) translates as the Daughter of the Mists.

Ariel had a period of rage when she was consumed by the Dark Side of the Force... I mean, Dark Magic; during that time much damage was inflicted to Bretonnia and the Lady of the Lake became hostile to Ariel.

The last two years of the timeline are a period of a grand Civil War in Bretonnia, led by a Mousillon bastard known as the Snake of Moussilon; Wood Elves stay aside for most of the campaign only gathering their might for the final battle, which begins as a final act of the timeline.

At the beginning of the Campaign Duke Armand and Fey Enchantress are slain in a battle with the traitor, after ignoring the King's order to wait for the armies of all Bretonnia to amass. Later the traitor turned to undeath and allied with Vampires (probably becoming one) and rides with an elite unit of Black Grail Knights.
